St Boniface RC Primary School

One who does good

Reception Admissions

Thank you for considering St Boniface RC Primary for your child. We warmly encourage all families to apply. While priority is given to practicing Catholic families in line with our Admissions Criteria, places are often available to non-practising Catholics and children of other or no faith.

If you have any questions at all, please call our Office on 0208 672 5874 — we are always happy to help.

To apply for a Reception place, you need to do two things:

*  Apply online through your local borough (for example, Wandsworth) by 15 January 2026.

*  Return the St Boniface supplementary form to the school so we have your family’s details. Please bring your child’s original baptism and birth certificates with the form so we can make copies.

Providing a baptism certificate will place your child in Category 2 of our Admissions Criteria.

Local boroughs will send out offer letters on 16 April 2026, and we look forward to welcoming your child to our school community.

Frequently Asked Questions:

What if I have not been going to mass recently?

We understand that some families feel unsure about applying if they have not been regular Mass attenders. Please be reassured that the Certificate of Catholic Practice is not based on attendance records, but on the parish priest knowing the family. We strongly encourage families to apply and to speak with their parish priest, who will approach each situation pastorally and individually.

What happens if I am unsuccessful in securing a place?

If you are not initially offered a place, we encourage you to contact the school office and speak with us directly.

Movement often takes place between April and September, as family circumstances change and places can become available. While we cannot guarantee a place, there may still be an opportunity for us to offer one during this time.
We are always happy to talk through your options and support you wherever we can.

Can you guarantee wrap around care?

St Boniface RC Primary offers wrap-around care from 7.45am through our Breakfast Club, and until 6.00pm through our After School Provision.
This provision is run by our own experienced school staff, who know the children well and work closely with the main school day. Places are offered subject to availability and demand, and therefore we are unable to guarantee wrap-around care for every child.

Successful Reception applicants will receive full information and booking paperwork as part of their welcome pack. We make every effort to support children and families in accessing wrap-around care wherever possible, and we encourage parents to contact us early to discuss their needs.

If my child is born in the summer and I’m considering deferring a Reception place, what should I do?

If your child has a summer birthday and you are thinking about deferring their start in Reception, our teachers and staff are very happy to talk this through with you and help you decide what may be right for your child.
You must still apply for a Reception place in your child’s normal age group by 15 January 2026.

If your child is offered a place, you can choose to decline it and then reapply for Reception the following year. Please be aware that this does not guarantee a place in the following year, as applications will be considered again and ranked according to the school’s Admissions Criteria at that time.
We strongly encourage parents to speak with us as early as possible so we can offer guidance and support throughout the process.
